I completed my undergraduate medical training at the University of the Witwatersrand in Johannesburg in 1997 and obtained my Specialist Qualification in Ophthalmology at the University of Cape Town in 2007. I highly recommend Dr. Marianthy Vayanos to anyone looking for an ophthalmologist in Cape Town. I have been seeing her for a number of years for various eye problems, and I have always been impressed with her professionalism, thoroughness, and kindness.

Dr Vayanos is caring and very skillful. She removed my cataracts and inserted IOL and my vision was much improved. I asked some probing questions prior to the procedure and she explained in great detail. I can fully recommend her as a first-class opthalmologist.

Not many specialists are prepared to go that extra mile/beyond the call of duty, especially on a Sunday and most particularly for someone who is not their patient! Dr Vayanos is a rare find, she assisted me remotely while out of town to treat an infection in my eye. Her diagnosis and suggested treatment was spot on! Dr Vayanos is a kind, caring, professional and extremely knowledgeable ophthalmologist! Highly recommend her!

My experience while undergoing cataracts removal and lense implantation was an extremely pleasant one. Dr. Vayanos was thorough in all aspects throughout the process, and eased my fears and anxiety. She went beyond the call of duty, by assisting me with a contact lense for my left eye, in order to improve my sight and comfort levels for the time being, while awaiting the next procedure. I was made aware that this accommodation is rarely performed by other ophthalmologist. Overall, I cannot recommend Dr. Vayanos highly enough!

I would highly recommend Dr Vayanos. I contacted her on a Saturday morning because my 5 months old baby had something in his eye for 12+ hours that was causing irritation and we couldn't get out. She was not even on duty and had private arrangements but still came in to meet us in her practise and managed to successfully treat my baby.

Dr. Vayanos was extremely helpful and knowledgeable. Her diagnosis and suggested treatment plan helped resolve my eye trouble in no time at all! In addition to this, she is a wonderful, kind, professional individual. Overall, I cannot recommend her highly enough.
